Media Literacy for Safe & Healthy Choices – Media Power Youth

Media Literacy for Safe & Healthy Choices

Set Students on a Path for Success in School and Life

MEDIA LITERACY CURRICULUM FOR GRADES 4 – 6

Media opens many doors for students, exposing them to information, ideas and people beyond the walls of their classrooms. But despite the positive impact media can have on the learning environment, it can introduce negative influences, too.

Media Literacy for Safe and Healthy Choices is an evidence-based, engaging curriculum that helps students recognize the impact media can have on the choices they make about violence, bullying, alcohol and tobacco use, and nutrition — all decisions that could affect their success in school and life.

Media Power Youth’s curriculum and media literacy training are based on media and child development research conducted by pediatricians, health experts and educators. When you introduce Media Literacy for Safe and Healthy Choices into your core curriculum, you help young people build a strong foundation of critical thinking and decision making skills so they can resist media’s influence on their attitudes and behaviors and become responsible creators and consumers of media.
